
The Tech Deck Start Pushing Training Program is intended for anyone working with children, youth, or adults new to skateboarding.
This is a resource intended for anyone working with skateboarders through formalized clubs, camps, classes and programs, as well as, through informal “pop up” lessons and events at your local skatepark. Additionally this is a resource for parents new to skateboarding and community programmers.

Module 1
Skatepark Safety and Etiquette
Individuals will build their capacity to work effectively as mentors, instructors and coaches across Canada.

- Equipment and maintenance
- Safety statistics
- Warming up and stretching
- Responding to injuries
- Adaptations
- Head injuries and concussions

Module 2
Fundamentals of Skateboarding
Coaches and mentors will lead participants to safely learn the fundamental skills to get started on their skateboard.
What it covers
- Self directed learning
- Pushing
- How to structure a lesson
- Stopping, carving and turning
- Foot position and stance
- The ollie
Approved by the Coaching Association of Canada

Upon successful completion of the Tech Deck Start Pushing training program, you will be recognized as a Canada Skateboard qualified skateboard mentor, and a trained community coach by the Coaching Association of Canada.
